Hilary's and Pastor Jay's book recommendations

One of the questions that was asked was:

Pastor Jay, if you could recommend just two books for people who would like to know more about Christianity, what would they be?
Hilary, same question, what books can someone read to challenge their thinking if they haven’t read about atheism before?

They both listed three books, and here they are:
Hilary:
  1. "End Of Faith" by Sam Harris
  2. "God Is Not Great" by Christopher Hitchens
  3. "Religion Explained" by Pascal Boyer
Pastor Jay:
  1. "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis
  2. "Knowing God" by J.I. Packer
  3. "The Grand Design" by Stephen Hawking

    The Grand Design is a fantastic book, and it certainly deserves recommendation.

    However, it is definitely not pro-theism, nor is it an apologetic book as Pastor Jay led the audience to believe with his deceptive quote mining.
